In Canada (or maybe just everywhere else except The Netherlands) there is a tendency to put all kinds of electrical wiring on poles, instead of under the ground where it should be. Since in this modern age almost everything can go through wires (e.g. electricity, cable, telephone, and even (wireless) internet), and almost everyone wants everything to be delivered at home using these wires (e.g. again, electricity, cable, telephone, and even (wireless) internet) this leads to a nice cacophony of wires to be seen, and photographed. Here are some nice examples from just down the street.

I'll add more to this post when I find better examples :-)
